My Shea is 5!

If you are as cute as Shea is, you’d celebrate for almost an entire month too. Fifth birthdays are a big deal!

On his actual birthday, he and I took the day off and he ran the day. First stop, Target. He chose an almost-life-sized Sonic. *He then joined us for the rest of the day * Table for 3! We ordered some yummy chicken soup for Shea and Sonic at Love Lane Kitchen. That place is so yummy. And since we were righttttt next door, we had to go to No Fo Do Co. Next up, we went to All Star Bowling. It still is a wonder to me why he chose this because neither of us had ever been there before, he’s never bowled before, and I hadn’t since maybe I was 5. Nonetheless, that’s what he chose. We bowled for a short time then partied it up in the arcade for a much longer time.

Cole, Shea, and I did some sushi for dinner. Then headed home for some chocolate cake, chocolate icing, and purple decorations AND some presents.

The next day we did a special “winter garden” aka igloo dinner at Flora in Westhampton Beach. Grandma and Grandpa were able to join us too. Shea was not excited about the flower pot given to him as a gift but, SURPRISE!!, it’s an ice cream sundae. “Mom, you got me a plant as a surprise?”

And then, there was the kid party. He won again with a party at All Star. (I wanted to do it outside at the park…). He invited a few new friends, a few old friends, and our only local family cousins. They were the nicest bunch of kids!!! He had an absolute blast and fell asleep in the car on the way home. Little party animal.

My Shea Shea. I’m so lucky you happened to me. I saw this sign when I first had you. It still hangs in your room. It still grounds me daily. I am lucky you happened to me, to all of us.

You are sweet, hilarious, and truly carefree. You are caring and loving but you are wholeheartedly yourself and unapologetically so. I am proud of you and the absolutely amazing little (5 year old 🥴💜😥💜)human being you are. I love you forever and ever.

  1. I think multi-day birthdays are some of the best traditions. He really was surrounded by love.
