Fall back

An extra hour of time?! I have to use it to catch up here. It’s been bit.

School for Coley and Shea has been good! Shea’s daily report is that they sing in Pre-k, sing more, and chase girls on the playground. it’s working for him though. He say she likes it and seems happy. Cole is liking 4th grade too. He’s doing soooo good academically totally taking after me with his 105 scores on math tests 😜 and I’ve only spoken to his teacher 3 times because he talks too much. Wonderful ratio.

Nana and Pop headed back to Florida so we spent an evening with them and all of Shea’s energy. Whew the things that sugar does to that boy!!

We also visited our most favorite breakfast place before it closed for the season. Eggs Benedict for the win.

The boys and I took a little trip upstate to get a break. We stayed in the city for a night on our way up and it just reminded us how much we miss that place! We didn’t have much planned but still (like always) found tons to do. We visited Little Island, a funny pop-up with sheep, some of our favorite parks and restaurants. We discovered a brand new fascination with skate boarding. Union Square park is the mecca. We watched people skate for a while. It was so cool because there were all different groups of people but they all were so cool to each other. Not normal for the city… not normal for most places these days. Then upstate… we went to an air show. So unique! Cole flew in a 1929 open air plane. He didn’t even hesitate for one second when he heard it was possible. Cheap, no, but possible. The whole show was fun too. Then we just did upstate stuff. Wandered, saw pretty colors of leaves, got pumpkins… that stuff. At night, we played charades, read ghost stories, and just relaxed.

Halloween! It was a normal Halloween again! We went pumpkin picking, made Jack-o-lanterns, the kids dressed up, and we trick-or-treated. Cole was a Fortnite thing (blah) and Shea was a police officer. It was Cole’s costume from years ago so it added an extra level of cuteness. We also got to go to the Great Pumpkin Blaze again too. Grandma came with the boys and I. Our Jack-o-lanterns rivaled some of these for sure. 🥸 It was a fun evening and perfect timing, it started raining right as we got back to the car.
