Only the big things

October:

November:

Football and Halloween and baseball through the fall. Parties and school events and kicking the soccer ball. But Coley’s 12th birthday might’ve been the biggest celebration of all *just kidding just kidding, I won’t do a whole poem but it might’ve been a fun challenge! I felt like I was writing for the Grinch actually*

On a serious note, that little tiny Cole of whom I began writing this whole thing turned 12. 12! We celebrated with friends and with family and he had his first group sleepover which was … funnnn kinnnddaaa. It’s still amazing to me that I am lucky enough to be his mama. Don’t get me wrong. Being a mom to an12 year old who knows every single thing and reminds you that you know close to nothing can get difficult at times. Really *really* difficult. But wouldn’t trade any of it away because the good and proud and sweet moments far outweigh those sassy ones. I hope you had a great birthday, Coley. I know you have already started counting down the days til you’re a teenager but I’ll count the seconds so it seems farther away and I can cherish these sweet 12 year old moments for that much longer. Love you so much. 🩵🩵
