Well it’s official. Cole is a decade old. I actually have no idea how that is possible. Cole and I cut out of school a bit early the day before his birthday and did whatever he wanted. Those things included: Starbucks, Target, pizza, and the aquarium. It was, by far, the best day we’ve had together in a long time.
On his actual birthday, school as usual but then dinner with the family, cake, presents, and phone calls. He had a blast.
And the friend part is crucial when you turn 10. I’ve been listening to Cole speak about Urban Air since before March 2020. Finally, it was time. I took him, Shea, and two of his friends (that I like because it was an hour drive each way) there and then out to lunch. They were all super cute taking turns picking songs to play both ways.. the fact that they chose the same songs over and over again mattered little because they were cracking themselves up and it was nice a sweet thing to see/hear. They played their butts off for almost 4 hours. It seemed like they all had a ton of fun.
Coley, I love you. I am not sure how it’s been 10 years. I have pictures of you in each and every stage of your life as clear as if they were yesterday. Happy birthday, sweet boy.
