The lake house! The boys and I needed a change of scenery. We wanted to do something but without doing something, ya know? With everything *still* going on, the idea of a lake house sounded perfect. New scene but no new people. We found our spot after lots of searching in Pennsylvania and it was just what we needed. The first day and a half, it was just the boys and I. We played outside all day both days, beside the 1 1/2 hours blowing up that purple dragon float and that was WITH a mini air compressor… otherwise, outside. Then, late Tuesday night, Uncle AJ, Aunt Melissa, Lila, and Char came to surprise the boys. They had no idea and Cole’s mouth hung open for a full minute when he saw them at the door. The next few days were even cuter because they all played together so nicely and it was the cutest! We lucked out with the weather 100%. We only went out to pick up take-out for dinner (and a sweet little ice cream shop) and made whatever else for all the other meals. It was a simple, low key break. I’m missing it now already!
The kids and AJ did some fishing too. AJ caught fish and Coley caught Lila’s water shoe that she lost in the lake a few days earlier. We did kayaking, swimming, floating, playing games, sparklers, Smores, and some walks around the neighborhood. I know it meant the world to the boys, they both are still talk about it almost daily. It meant the same to me.
